When Otik purchasedBalingHai in 1983, it was nothing more than bushes, rocks and kamote plantation. Step-by-step, the place has grown to what it is for today. With much courage, supportive friends and family,BalingHai has been one of the most kept secrets on the island. Just as we used the light of the moon to navigate our manual bangkas in the very beginning, our cottages were once nipa huts as accommodations. With time, we have evolved and changed our materials into rock, cement and hard wood. We combine local minerals with modern facilities to keep the charm of the bungalows.

We createdBalingHai based on the strong memories of our first nights in Boracay, when practically no one inhabited the island. We built BalingHai with detailed memories we knew we wanted to withhold and share with others today. The privacy of swimming in a calm and private ocean; the white sands; the comforting yet intense darkness that enabled the starry sky & the Milky Way to shine in the night; the sound of nature; the geckos climbing the walls~ this is what Boracay was, and thankfully still is........... at BalingHai.

   We are proud to hear over the years from our visitors, after having stayed with us here, they have returned to their homes with new impressions on life, and feel recharged.BalingHai, as you can see, is more than just a resort to us, it is our home, and a peaceful lifestyle.
